Preceptor Staff Services

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  To provide support services to Rocky Vista University Clinical
Preceptors though credentialing support and assuring student compliance with rotation
  1. Responsible for obtaining initial credentialing information from RVU preceptors
    1. Completion of preceptor credentialing package for review
  2. Responsible for obtaining reappointment credentialing information from RVU preceptors
    1. Completion of preceptor reappointment package for review
  3. Perform preceptor site visits as assigned
  4. Complete site profile forms as assigned
  5. Responsible for obtaining initial Affiliation Agreements with new preceptors and training sites
  6. Responsible for updating Affiliation Agreements with preceptors and training sites
  7. Maintain accurate clinical information database for clinical rotation sites, site requirements and clinical faculty
  8. Oversee AHEC housing for students
  9. Recruit new doctors and sites to the RVU rotation base
  10. Review preceptor background checks
  11. Provide support and assist the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and the Clinical Affairs Manager.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Dean or his/her designee. 

1 .Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as required.
2. Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university.

  1. Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  2. Demonstrate advanced skill level of data entry knowledge and computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. 
  3. Ability to work with confidential material with an attention to detail.
  4. Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.
  5. Ability to work with physicians and medical systems
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team-based multi-cultural environment.
  7. Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skill.  
  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in medical education or provider credentialing. 
  1. BSN or Master’s Degree
  2. Work experience at a College of Osteopathic Medical School
  3. Work experience in provider credentialing
