Rocky Vista University in Parker, CO has an immediate opening for a full-time
Communications Coordinator.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:       The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager and the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and External Relations in the development and implementation of an effective marketing and communications program to achieve the mission of the University.
  1. Serves as a member of the Marketing Team.
  2. Oversees Home Town News program.  Writes press releases regarding students’ achievements and distributes releases to designated community papers.
  3. Reviews, updates and maintains social media sites and blog.
  4. Writes and distributes press releases
  5. Maintains experts list and student directory and updates as necessary.
  6. Updates university website as necessary.
  7. Researches and writes articles for the Vista View Newsletter.
  8. Searches for and sends news and announcements to RVU community regularly.
  9. Represents university at community events as requested.
  10. Maintains I-Contact distribution list.  Adds and deletes names as requested. Provides monthly report on add/drop activity.
  11. Maintains contact list for local and national media.
  12. Demonstrates and maintains a positive applicant/student customer service attitude.
  13. Ability to represent the department and the university in a professional manner.
  14. Participates in special assignments not limited to student services, marketing, and Alumni Association.
  15. Serves on committees at the request of supervisor, Executive Director, Marketing Manager, President, the Dean or their designee.
  16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Executive Director, Marketing Manager, President, the Dean or their designee.
  1. Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects.
  2. Supports and attends activities of all areas of Marketing department with duties as assigned including but not limited to community and campus events.

  1. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  2. Knowledge of graphic design software including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
  3. Experience with Wordpress
  4. Experience with photography in a professional setting
  5. Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  6. Ability to work with confidential material with an attention to detail
  7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize a large workload, and problem solve innovatively
  8. Demonstrate strong computer skills
  9. Demonstrate time management skill and meet deadlines.
  10. Motivated and self-directed
  11. Detail-oriented
  1.  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  1. Master's degree  in Marketing or Communications
  2. Previous experience at an accredited university, health profession college or medical school
