FACULTY POSITION:       Rocky Vista University Physician Assistant Program located in Parker, CO is currently seeking a faculty member (assistant or associate professor).  The successful applicant will have a minimum of a Master of Science in a relevant field and a clinical certification or licensure in a relevant field.
 
PRIMARY PURPOSE:       Faculty for the department of Physician Assistant Studies deliver the majority of the curriculum content for the MPAS and fulfill ARC-PA accreditation requirements for faculty participation in the operations of the program.  The director of basic science curriculum will teach in the foundations courses and oversee the integration of basic sciences content with clinical content within the PA program and with other university programs
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 
1.  Serve as course director for assigned courses within the MPAS (Molecular and Cellular Concepts)
 
2.  Serve as curricular liaison between the College of Medicine departments of biomedical sciences and structural medicine, the MSBS program and the PA program
 
3. Deliver curriculum content for courses within the MPAS curriculum
 
4.  Develop clinically integrated curriculum content for the MPAS based on professional competencies, EPAs, ARC-PA standards and NCCPA certification examination
 
5.  Advise a subset of PA students throughout the program; overseeing portfolio, research and capstone activities
 
6.  Serve on admissions, student assessment, and program assessment committees
 
7.  Serve on institutional level committees and workgroups
 
8.  Participate in development and execution of interprofessional activites  
 
9.  Other duties as assigned supporting the mission of the program and the university
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
 
1.  Proficiency with office, academic, and clinical systems (examples: calendars, email, LMS, presentation, clinical tracking, EHR, or other healthcare related databases)
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
1. Clinical expertise in one or more curriculum content areas of the MPAS degree (for example: MD, DO, PA, PT, PharmD)
2. Relevant Master’s Degree in a basic science
3. Experience teaching master’s level students
 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
1. Experience in delivering curriculum content to PA students
2. Recent clinical experience
3. Terminal degree in relevant field
4. Experience with high fidelity simulation in medical education
